Davenport
Davenport is located in Polk County Florida. The population is roughly 2000, and it is part of Lakeland Winter Haven. In the winter months the population explodes to 10-12000 people, mostly tourists and vacationers.
Davenport is quickly expanding, and the outskirts are being built up quickly. For the most part this can be attributed as a result of increased tourism in the area. The town is very close to Walt Disney World which makes it a popular destination. Those that have spent time here say that it is a quiet sleepy area away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities in Florida such as nearby Orlando and Daytona Beach.
If you are staying in Davenport two popular restaurants are The Salt Water Grill, and Bruno’s Italian Restaurant. There are a few unique shops and boutiques in the area, Treasure House Antiques and Collectables has a wide variety of nostalgia and gifts. For those looking to shop Posner Park is also a great spot.

This area was well known for the amusement park Circus World however the park was closed in the late 80’s Boardwalk and Baseball then took over. This was the home of the Kansas City Royals spring training camp, at the time Davenport was known as “Baseball City”. In 2005 the stadiums and surrounding area was completely demolished and the large outdoor shopping centre and community known as Posner Park was created.
Crystal Lake and Cypress Gardens are nearby cities that a lot of tourists and locals alike frequent. Cypress Gardens is a popular spot for families and children as they have a large amusement park named Cypress Gardens and Splash Island Water Park.
There are numerous golf courses in the area, most popular are the Champions Gate GCC, Southern Dunes, and of course the Walt Disney World Golf Course.
